SERAP Demands FG Disclose Local Beneficiaries of ₦460bn Abuja CCTV Project Within 48 Hours
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the Finance Minister to publish the names of all Nigerian contractors, subcontractors, consultants and vendors paid from the $460 million Abuja CCTV loan. SERAP says partial disclosures by the Ministry of Finance came only after contempt proceedings and a notice to show cause. Key details remain missing, including the identities of local firms, payment amounts and the status of 6,035 undelivered items. The Federal High Court ordered full disclosure in May 2023. SERAP warns it will resume contempt action if the ministry fails to comply within 48 hours. The group stresses that transparency on public debt spending is essential to uphold the rule of law and protect taxpayers’ interests.
