Peter Obi says his run in the 2027 presidential election may be his last attempt at Nigeria’s top office. He points out that he will turn 65 that year and believes the informal power rotation agreement will return the presidency to the North in 2031. Under that convention, the South might not hold the presidency again until around 2039, when Obi would be 77. He says he is unlikely to contest at that age but remains committed to good governance and leadership renewal. He also pledges to mentor young Nigerians and support the next generation of leaders nationwide.
