FG Unveils State-of-the-Art AI and Robotics Innovation Hub at OAU
The Federal Government has opened the Renewed Hope-NITDA Innovation Hub at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The centre was commissioned on June 8 by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. The facility houses four specialist labs: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) and the Internet of Things. Students will gain hands-on experience with advanced equipment rarely available at Nigerian universities. The Minister described the hub as an investment in the future of Nigerian youth. He encouraged students to develop real-world solutions and support Nigeria’s digital economy. The centre also welcomes the wider community. This launch comes as the government rolls out major digital projects, including new fibre-optic cables, communication satellites and additional telecom towers to boost national connectivity by 2027.
