Dismantling the ‘Race Box’: Unmasking Colonialism’s Spiritual Trap
The Race Box is a legal and social weapon created by European empires to replace real identities with color-coded hierarchies. This false category justified slavery and conquest and now endangers our spiritual and psychological freedom. Portraying Jesus as white or insisting he was Black both reinforce racial idolatry. Arguing over skin color keeps the system alive and protects the very prison we seek to escape. Labels like “biracial” or “multiracial,” and broad racial groups like “Black,” fracture solidarity and trigger internal colourism. They erase distinct nations, languages, and traditions while preserving colonial power structures. True liberation means destroying this idol, not decorating it. We must reject the Race Box, reclaim our ancestral lineages, and refuse to play by its rules.
