Christian Film Leaders Shine at AICFF 2026 in Abuja
The first Africa International Christian Film Festival (AICFF) wrapped up in Abuja after four days of screenings, masterclasses and panel talks under the theme “God’s Creative Army.” Filmmakers, church leaders and media professionals gathered to explore faith-based storytelling as a tool for identity and kingdom impact. Highlights included keynote addresses from Mike Bamiloye on “Identity & Kingdom Storytelling,” messages from the Kendrick Brothers, and a session by the Christian Broadcast Network. Industry panels covered topics such as connecting faith and culture, revenue strategies for Christian films, and global distribution pipelines for African storytellers. On the final day, attendees pitched original short scripts to a panel of industry executives. The winning writer received cash, mentorship and a development opportunity. The festival concluded with awards across 12 categories—where ‘Where The River Divides’ took home Best Film, Best Directing, Best Cinematography and more. Organizers say the maiden edition has set a new standard for faith-driven cinema in Africa. Creatives left energized for the next festival in 2027.
