Kwankwaso: Nigeria ‘Bleeding Profusely’ as Insecurity Worsens, Demands Urgent Reforms
Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano State governor and NDC vice-presidential candidate, says Nigeria’s security architecture is failing despite massive investments. He warned that a wave of violence is engulfing the country and must be addressed immediately. He named Zamfara, Borno, Sokoto, Katsina, Kwara and Oyo among the worst-hit states. Kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, communal clashes and armed robbery have left many Nigerians living in fear and disrupted economic activities. Kwankwaso also criticised the growing audacity of criminal groups, noting they now use live social-media sessions to taunt authorities and terrorise the public. He called for swift reform of intelligence gathering, better coordination among security agencies and stronger community engagement to restore peace.
