INEC Engages All Parties in Second Quarterly Consultative Meeting
The Independent National Electoral Commission convened its second quarterly consultative meeting with all registered political parties and their national officers. In his opening remarks, INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan emphasized that political parties are key partners in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy. He highlighted recent judicial decisions and outlined steps taken to ensure timely and transparent processes. Discussions covered candidate nomination procedures, guidelines for primary elections, voter education campaigns, PVC collection, and measures against vote buying. With 220 days to the 2027 general elections, INEC urged parties to adhere strictly to the Electoral Act and complete all submissions before the deadline.
