Inside Tinubu’s Unstoppable Strategy for the 2027 Election

Inside Tinubu’s Unstoppable Strategy for the 2027 Election

Elections aren’t decided on social media—there’s no polling unit online. ADC, NDC and LP lack the ground foot soldiers to do the dirty work. By splitting the opposition vote again, Atiku and Obi have cleared the way for Tinubu. Obi spoils votes for Atiku in the South, while Atiku does the same up North. Northern voters remain reluctant to back an Igbo candidate now that Gowon is still alive, and Kwankwaso’s influence barely reaches beyond Kano and Jigawa. Tinubu has multiple safety nets—INEC to deliver the result, the judiciary to uphold it, and even the military if citizens take to the streets. Regardless of fuel price hikes or rising insecurity, he’s virtually unopposed for a return to Aso Rock. Only a military intervention could really stop him. Don’t hate the player; hate the game.

That picture seems too neat. Ground mobilisation faces serious logistic hurdles, and the opposition might still rally stronger turnouts.

Opposition groups should prioritise strengthening local networks and voter education now if they hope to disrupt Tinubu's ground advantage in 2027.
