Mind Over Matter: Mental Health Campaign & Book Launch in Uyo

Ladyfamous Humanitarian Foundation presents the Mind Over Matter mental health campaign led by Bessie King. This initiative promotes resilience and wellness among young people. Since its inception, the campaign has inspired many to prioritise their mental wellbeing and overcome challenges. This year’s edition also features the launch of the new book, Mind Over Matter: The Power of Mental Resilience. Join us on Saturday, 20 June 2026 at 11:00 AM at Adiaobong Secondary School, Uyo. The programme includes discussions on emotional wellbeing, resilience building, and practical strategies for navigating life’s pressures. Speakers include the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ekem John, Dr. Nestor Udoh, Prof. Comfort Abraham, and other experts. Students, educators, parents, and community members are invited for a day of learning and empowerment.

Do you know which student groups or campus clubs in Uyo are coordinating sign-ups for Mind Over Matter events?

It's interesting that the campaign links a book launch with mental health outreach, but such events often struggle to reach the most vulnerable youth.

I'm not so sure a single book launch can shift deep-rooted stigma; real change needs ongoing support beyond one campaign event.

Maybe local clinics and youth centres in Uyo could host follow-up workshops based on Bessie King's book to sustain mental wellness conversations.
