NaijaWorld Community Rules

NaijaWorld is a fun place where anyone is welcome to discover awesome posts and have their spirits lifted. We want to keep that good thing going, so we have created this ruleset to help guide the content on NaijaWorld. If you see a post or comment that breaks the rules, please report it to the NaijaWorld moderators. Content that breaks these rules may be removed and the poster warned. Multiple violations in a short time frame may lead to a suspension or ban.

No hate speech, abuse, or harassment

NaijaWorld is open to anyone, so we take down hate speech and abusive content when we see it. This includes:

  • Attacks based on ethnicity, race, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or medical condition
  • Glorification or endorsement of hateful ideologies
  • Harassment, witch hunting, aggressive intimidation, or threats
  • Bullying or attacking non-public individuals
  • Images taken without someone's consent for the purpose of harassment
Provocative or explicit content must be marked mature/graphic

To ensure a welcoming experience for everyone, some content is available only by opting in. Mature content may include suggestive, inflammatory, or provocative material such as:

  • Mild violence, injuries, or blood
  • Scantily-clad individuals
  • Content that antagonises or agitates a group of people
  • Non-explicit content discussing sexual experiences

No sexually explicit content is allowed, even if marked mature.

No content condoning illegal or violent activity

Content depicting or advocating illegal activity will not be tolerated. This includes:

  • Child abuse and exploitation
  • Rape and domestic abuse
  • Fraudulent or deceptive content
  • False impersonation

You may not post content that incites violence, mocks victims of violence, or includes direct threats.

No spam

We value authentic content. We do not welcome clickbait, unsolicited affiliate links, spoilers posted to troll, rapid-fire posting, scripts or bots, or anything else that might be considered spammy.

Good sharing practices
  • Value: Post content that opens a discussion, shares something new, or has a deeper story. Ask yourself: would I want to see this if someone else posted it?
  • Respect: Respect the community's feedback through upvotes and downvotes. Avoid constantly reposting content that has been downvoted.
