Children Live in Fear on Nigeria’s Children’s Day Amid Rising Kidnappings
On Nigeria’s Children’s Day, many kids are unable to celebrate. They live in fear instead of joy as insecurity worsens nationwide. Kidnappings are now common. Traveling short distances feels risky and a phone call at night brings dread. Families can’t find peace and parents fear for their children each time they leave home. Workers, students and farmers all feel unsafe. High food prices and rising living costs only add to the burden of fear. Governments at all levels must prioritize protecting lives and property now. No child or Nigerian deserves to live under this constant threat. We need safety and peace again.
