Alleged Coup Plotters’ Plan to Seize Aso Rock and Capture Tinubu Revealed

Premium Times has uncovered fresh details of an alleged coup conspiracy to storm the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Suspects reportedly aimed to capture President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and other top leaders. Investigators say the plot included a “decapitation unit” to neutralise military chiefs at Niger Barracks and seize key installations like the Armed Forces Complex and Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport. Over 40 suspects, including senior officers and civilian accomplices, were named in the coordinated operation. Security agencies recovered weapons, vehicles and ammunition in a joint Army and SSS raid. Many suspects remain in custody, while others face investigation by the SSS and EFCC on financing and logistics charges. Families of the detained officers have challenged the official account. They demand open trials and due process, even as authorities prepare to conclude investigations and decide between public or closed military proceedings.
