Adamawa APC Primaries Fallout: Imposed Candidates and the Risk of Party Collapse
What emerged from the APC House of Representatives primaries in Adamawa State has left many members bitter and disillusioned. Across all eight federal constituencies, aspirants and observers allege that internal democracy was sacrificed for backroom deals. Claims of a predrafted “presidential list” and candidate imposition have fuelled fears of a predetermined and fraudulent process. With the names of the National Security Adviser and the governor linked to suspected manipulation, trust in party leadership is eroding. Unless the APC opens reconciliation channels, investigates complaints, and restores transparency, it may face rebellion from within and suffer defeats in future elections.
