The Early Childhood Association of Nigeria wrapped up its 17th annual national conference in Omoku, Rivers State. Under the theme “Playful Pathways: Exploring the Power of Play in Early Childhood Education,” educators, policymakers and development partners gathered to share insights and best practices. Outgoing President Professor B.G. Abidogun praised the role of purposeful play in children’s development and honoured ECAN’s founding members. He highlighted achievements of his tenure, including strengthened state chapters, institutional partnerships and revived professional lectures. Professor Ogunyemi Taiwo was inaugurated as the new National President and announced her flagship agenda: the creation of a National Commission on Early Childhood Education.
