NYCN Isolo Launches New Directorates, Urges Appointees to Serve with Diligence

The Isolo branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria has inaugurated a series of directorates to boost youth engagement and drive community development. At the monthly management meeting in Lagos, the branch coordinator challenged the appointees to embrace their roles as a call to service and contribute meaningfully to the area’s progress. The new teams include sectors such as Education and Training, Health, Transportation, Ethics and Peace, and Employment. Appointees were carefully selected from local Community-Based Organisations and Voluntary Youth Organisations to ensure fair representation across the seven political wards. A leadership retreat will soon be held to equip them for their responsibilities. Local leaders, including the chairman of Isolo LCDA, were thanked for their support, and former coordinator Mr. Adewole praised the move as a bold step for grassroots youth participation.

True talk! Rolling out street parley sessions, skills workshops, and casual hangouts can really energise youth involvement.

Rather than launching fresh directorates, why not reinforce existing youth networks first before adding another layer of bureaucracy?

While new directorates sound promising, past initiatives often faltered without clear follow-through and measurable milestones from leadership.

I'm not convinced that adding new directorates is the solution; enhancing existing roles with clear accountability could benefit Isolo youth more.

Appointees should set specific monthly targets, gather community feedback regularly, and report progress transparently to build trust and drive results.
