Funke Akindele Reveals How Giving Up Parties and Self-Care Led to N2.7B Box Office Success

Funke Akindele Reveals How Giving Up Parties and Self-Care Led to N2.7B Box Office Success

Funke Akindele says she shelved parties and self-care to boost her film’s earnings. In a recent interview, she revealed she skipped hair appointments, social events and visits for almost two years. She pushed through sleepless nights, skipped meals and abandoned her social life to focus on Behind The Scenes. The movie went on to gross N2.7 billion and break box-office records. Akindele also spoke about industry pressures, noting they didn’t break her but taught her patience, discipline and emotional control. She was recently honoured by the National Film and Video Censors Board for her achievements. Akindele thanked her fans and credited her success to hard work and divine favour.
