Teenager Arrested After Allegedly Beheading Grandmother in Ghana

An 18-year-old known as Yaw Brakoh, alias “2 Cedi,” was taken into custody after reportedly beheading his grandmother at her home in Wassa Adansi, Amenfi East Municipality in Ghana’s Western Region on May 17. Community members say they intervened and held the suspect before handing him to the Wassa Akropong Police Patrol Team. An angry mob nearly took matters into their own hands, but officers arrived just in time to prevent a lynching. The suspect was treated for injuries sustained during the arrest under police guard. Authorities have not confirmed claims of drug abuse and say investigations are ongoing to determine what led to this tragic incident.
