Speeding and Route Violation Spark Fiery Crash on Ogbere–J4 Corridor, Two Dead
A fatal collision between a Mack truck and a Peugeot J5 bus occurred at Ogbere Junction on the Ogbere–J4 corridor in Ogun State early Thursday. The crash claimed the lives of two adult men on the spot, while two others escaped unhurt. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that excessive speed and driving against approved routes were likely causes. The impact set the bus alight, completely destroying its front section. FRSC’s emergency team arrived within two minutes of the distress call. They managed traffic and cleared the scene swiftly to restore normal flow. The Ogun State FRSC Commander sympathised with the victims’ families. He urged all motorists to obey speed limits and approved routes, particularly when visibility is poor or roads are wet.
