Osun Police Debunk Motor Park Fire Claims After On-Site Inspections

A widely shared Arise TV clip wrongly alleged that NURTW members loyal to the APC set fire to motor parks in Osogbo over two days. The video included a fire scene that was deceptively embedded. To clear the air, the Osun State Police Command, led by DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, took journalists to Stadium, Ilesa, Aregbe and Old Garages. At each location, drivers, traders and commuters confirmed there was no fire, no violence and business proceeded as normal. After the tour, the Police Public Relations Officer urged everyone to remain peaceful and channel grievances through proper authorities. He warned that spreading falsehood under the Cybercrime Act carries consequences and called on purveyors of fake news to desist.
