Edo VCRU Recovers Kidnap Victims’ Remains After ₦11m Ransom Payout

Edo State’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), under the supervision of the state Commissioner of Police, launched an intensive investigation. After arresting 23-year-old suspect Musa Haruna at Okada Junction, officers cracked his confession. He admitted his gang killed three captives despite an ₦11 million ransom securing one victim’s release. Guided by Musa, the team located two shallow graves in an Edo forest on June 2 and recovered the remains for autopsy. Residents and community leaders have praised the VCRU’s professionalism and persistence. Though the discovery brings painful closure, police say investigations continue to arrest other syndicate members and dismantle the network behind these violent crimes.
