Benin City Police Seize 36 Live Cartridges from Bus Passenger

Edo State police intercepted a bus passenger during a routine stop-and-search at Guobadia Junction on the Benin–Auchi Road on May 23. Officers from Ikpoba Hill Area Command stopped a minibus carrying seven passengers. Three men abandoned their belongings and tried to flee. One suspect, Richard Gabriel, 36, of Ovia South-West LGA, was chased and arrested. A subsequent search of his bag uncovered thirty-six live cartridges. The Commissioner of Police praised the professionalism of the officers. He assured residents of the command’s continued commitment to fighting crime and ensuring public safety.
