Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Fighter Over Deadly Buni Yadi Military School Attack
Troops have arrested a 26-year-old suspected Boko Haram fighter accused of taking part in the May 8 attack on the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Yobe State. Seventeen police officers undergoing specialised combat training were killed in the attack. The suspect was reportedly arrested on August 4 while attempting to enter the military facility. During preliminary questioning, he allegedly admitted involvement and named three commanders said to have led the operation. He claimed the attackers had hidden near Buni Gari before the raid and that the group lost more than 10 fighters. Military sources say he remains in custody for further investigation and profiling.
