3 Killed, 7 Hospitalised After Truck Crashes into Car on Abeokuta–Sagamu Expressway

Three people, including a young girl, lost their lives after a Sino truck rammed into an Opel passenger car at the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta–Sagamu Expressway on Saturday around 5:40 PM. Rescue teams from the Ogun State FRSC arrived within seven minutes and began emergency operations. Ten passengers were involved: four adult males, three adult females, two female children and one male child. The crash claimed the lives of two adult males and one female child. Seven others, including three adult females, one female child and three adult males, sustained varying injuries and were rushed to State Hospital, Ijaye. Preliminary investigations point to speeding and loss of control as the likely causes. The Sector Commander has urged all motorists to obey speed limits and keep their vehicles in good mechanical condition to prevent such tragedies.
