Two students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic in Saapade, Ogun State, died and two others were hospitalised after allegedly inhaling a hard drug suspected to be nitrous oxide in the Oke-Ola Phase II area of Isara-Remo on July 21. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed on July 23 that the bodies of the two deceased have been deposited in the morgue for autopsy. The survivors are receiving medical treatment as investigations continue. Police warn the public against illicit substance abuse and urge vigilance over drug use among youths.
