Court Jails Mother and Sister of Terrorist Kingpin Battujo for 40 Years
The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the DSS-arrested mother and sister of slain terrorist kingpin Kachallah Ibrahim Battujo to 40 years in prison. Safiya Salihu and Halima Abdullahi pleaded guilty to aiding terrorism and concealing key information under sections 26 and 16 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022. Justice Hauwa Joseph Yilwa convicted them on three counts, each carrying a 20-year term. The judge ordered the sentences to run concurrently, after which both will undergo rehabilitation. Battujo was killed by security forces on June 10, 2026, following a failed mass abduction and attack on WAEC exam candidates in Kogi State.
