Lagos Food Hubs Hit ₦3.8bn in Transactions as New Markets Roll Out

Lagos Food Hubs Hit ₦3.8bn in Transactions as New Markets Roll Out

The Lagos government says its food hub initiative has handled over ₦3.8bn in transactions as it expands structured agro-produce markets. The Mushin hub alone delivered ₦2.6bn, with an extra ₦1.2bn generated across 76 market days since May 2025. Over 850 vendors are now registered, creating more than 7,000 direct and indirect jobs in trading, logistics and food handling. New hubs have been completed or are under way in Abijo, Agege, Opebi, Ikorodu, Bombata, Apapa, Festac and Lekki. The long-term goal is to set up a structured food-distribution hub in every local government area to cut post-harvest losses and boost efficiency.
