El-Rufai Rejects ICPC Allegations, Demands Retraction Over Court Order Dispute

El-Rufai Rejects ICPC Allegations, Demands Retraction Over Court Order Dispute

Former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai has dismissed the ICPC’s claim that he breached a court order by missing his July 6 hearing. His team says unresolved health issues, pre-arranged medical appointments and an existing court directive guaranteed his right to treatment. The rebuttal accuses the ICPC of denying his physician access, unilaterally changing his hospital appointment time and ignoring an April 1 order that ensured his medical care while in custody. El-Rufai insists he complied with all legal requirements and warns that any further restriction could lead to contempt proceedings. The statement also demands the immediate release of his personal doctor, questions alleged false statements against Prof. Abubakar and calls on the ICPC to retract its July 7 assertion. El-Rufai reaffirms his commitment to a fair trial and proper medical treatment under the law.

Do you think his health issues truly justify missing the ICPC hearing, or is this just a strategic delay?

I agree his health could be genuine, but the timing does raise questions about a possible tactic.

El-Rufai's team mentions medical appointments and a court directive, yet the timing of his absence still raises questions.

I'm not convinced his health issues fully excuse skipping a scheduled ICPC hearing, regardless of any court order.

Authorities should review his medical records and communicate findings transparently before declaring any breach of court orders.
