Federal Polytechnic Oko Introduces Modern LMS to Transform Learning

By Mokwugwo Solomon Federal Polytechnic Oko’s Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, underscored the value of a modern Learning Management System (LMS) as a key ICT tool for teaching and learning. She spoke during a one-day workshop hosted by the school’s Open Distance Flexible E-Learning directorate (ODFEL). The training aimed to equip lecturers with skills to deliver 70% of course content online and 30% in practical sessions. Participants learned how LMS platforms streamline content delivery, assessments, progress tracking and record-keeping, making distance no barrier to quality education. Dr. Chikwelu Mbonu, ODFEL Director, explained that he revived the programme, secured NBTE-approved software and now drives the integration of technology across teaching, learning and administration. He commended the Rector for her visionary support in advancing the polytechnic’s digital learning agenda.
