Mother Pleads as Kidnappers Demand ₦50m Ransom for Daughter Abducted on Benin–Lagos Expressway

Christiana was among passengers on a GUO Transport bus attacked by armed men on the Benin–Ore axis of the Benin–Lagos Expressway on Monday. Witnesses say the kidnappers killed the driver before seizing several travellers. In a viral video, her mother, a widow, begged Nigerians to help after the abductors demanded a ₦50m ransom. She said she cannot pay the full amount and offered ₦10m instead, but the kidnappers have set a 4pm deadline for payment. The widow explained that Christiana’s father is deceased and she has no means to meet such a large demand. The fate of Christiana and the other captives remains unknown as families wait anxiously for news.
