South-South Communities: Brace for Oyo Terror Spillover, Strengthen Local Security
Recent attacks and abductions in Oyo State show a widening terror threat. These incidents began in the southwest and are unlikely to stop there. Communities in the South-South—Igbo, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Ibibio and others—must not wait until the violence reaches their towns. Underestimating these deadly attackers risks lives and livelihoods. Now is the time to upgrade and coordinate all regional security efforts. Activate local defense networks like ESN and collaborate with joint task forces. To be forewarned is to be forearmed, especially when state protection falls short.
