1 / 2

Social media is abuzz after a Delta State High Court in Effurun ruled against VeryDarkMan (VDM). The court awarded ₦20 million as general damages, ₦10 million as aggravated damages, and ₦500,000 for legal costs to comedian Mr Jollof’s wife, Mrs. Atsepoyi. The feud began in 2024 when VDM criticized Mr Jollof for promoting a payments app despite user complaints. Their online exchanges soon turned personal, with threats and heated responses from both sides. The dispute escalated when VDM allegedly linked Mrs. Atsepoyi to politicians and cyber fraudsters. She filed a suit, claiming reputational harm and emotional distress. The court also ordered VDM to retract the statements and publish a public apology.
