KASU VC Denies ASUU Claim That 200 Lecturers Resigned Over Poor Conditions

Kaduna State University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Musa, has denied ASUU-KASU’s claim that 200 lecturers resigned because of poor working conditions. He described the allegation as misleading and asked the union to provide names, resignation dates and reasons. Musa said staff exits through resignation, retirement, transfer and other career opportunities were normal in universities. He said the Kaduna State Government had cleared some salary arrears, released over ₦800 million for staff welfare in three years, and provided funds for withheld salaries, SIWES allowances and monthly intervention support. The vice-chancellor also cited funding for accreditation, research centres, academic programmes, scholarships and university operations. He acknowledged that some welfare issues remain unresolved but urged ASUU to use dialogue and avoid actions that could disrupt the academic calendar.
