ARTMA Impounds Tipper After Pedestrian Is Killed in Alleged One-Way Crash in Anambra
The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency has stepped up enforcement against one-way driving after a pedestrian was reportedly killed by a tipper truck travelling against traffic on July 25. ARTMA said the driver fled after the incident, but its operatives later traced and intercepted the truck at Upper Iweka, Onitsha. The vehicle has been impounded. The agency said the death highlights the dangers of driving against traffic and urged motorists, particularly tipper drivers, to obey road rules rather than take illegal shortcuts.
