Nigerian Migrant Jailed for 17 Years Over Rape in Wrexham
Gift Oladele, a Nigerian migrant with no fixed address, has been sentenced for violently attacking a 19-year-old woman in Wrexham last September. A jury at Mold Crown Court found him guilty of rape and sexual assault in March. On April 30 at Caernarfon Crown Court, he received 17 years’ imprisonment, an eight-year licence period, and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order with a lifelong restraining order. A Home Office spokesperson condemned the crime and warned that foreign nationals who commit serious offences will face swift removal. North Wales Police Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst praised the victim’s bravery and urged anyone affected by sexual violence to come forward.
