FIFA to Broadcast Every 2026 World Cup Match in Live Sign Language
FIFA has confirmed that the 2026 World Cup will be the first edition to offer live sign language interpretation for every match. The service will translate on-pitch action and stadium atmosphere in real time for Deaf and hard-of-hearing fans. Regional sign languages will vary by host country. Matches in the United States and Canada will feature American Sign Language, while games in Mexico will use Mexican Sign Language. Knockout fixtures will mostly use ASL, with LSM for selected Spanish-speaking ties. Supporters can access the live sign language feed via the official World Cup app by selecting Accessibility Services and activating the Sign Language option. This initiative builds on accessibility tools tested at the 2025 Club World Cup and reflects FIFA’s ongoing commitment to inclusion.
