Why Angela Okorie Burnt Her Outfit from Alex Ekubo’s Burial

Nollywood star Angela Okorie has revealed she destroyed the dress she wore to Alex Ekubo’s funeral. She shared on Instagram that her grandmother warned her against keeping clothes worn to burials. Heeding that advice, Angela says she burned the outfit and wanted to pass the tip on to family, friends and followers. “My Godmother said it’s not good to keep clothes from a burial; you burn them. So family and friends, take note,” she wrote. She closed with a prayer: “May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen.”

Burning outfits might harm the environment; maybe she should have recycled or donated them instead.

A simple alternative is storing funeral clothes separately then repurposing them into cleaning rags or keepsakes.
