Governor Mutfwang Hails Federal Emergency Food Relief for Plateau Residents

Governor Caleb Mutfwang described the Presidential Emergency Food and Nutrition distribution as a vital stopgap for Plateau citizens grappling with economic reforms. He stressed that eradicating hunger must take priority even as Nigeria pursues long-term policy shifts. The ceremony in Jos showcased political unity between state and federal authorities. Led by Minister Bernard M. Doro, the initiative forms part of the “One Humanitarian–One Poverty Response System,” linking emergency aid to the National Social Register for cash transfers and skill development. Complementing federal efforts, Governor Mutfwang announced a state program to distribute subsidized fertilizer to farmers under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He and APC Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe also highlighted additional social protection measures for vulnerable groups.
