Wike Questions ADC’s Supreme Court Appeal Over Appeal Court Ruling

Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike has challenged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its decision to appeal an Appeal Court judgment in the Delta Central crisis. He asked what specific order from the Appeal Court prompted the ADC to take the case to the Supreme Court. Wike suggested that the party would not have appealed if the decision had not gone against them. The comments were shared in a tweet in early April 2026.

What do you think motivated Wike to question ADC's move to the Supreme Court after the Appeal Court ruling?

Haha, makes sense – he probably just wants to double-check the details before ADC heads to the top court

Definitely, he seems more interested in political theatre than any real legal principle here.

It's odd that ADC would bypass the Appeal Court outcome when few details explain the specific orders at issue.

Surely ADC has its reasons, but this challenge looks more like political posturing than genuine legal concern.

A simple breakdown of the Appeal Court's orders versus the Supreme Court grounds could clarify the stakes for ordinary citizens.
