How My Security Job Transfer Opened Up New Side Hustles
Last month, I was redeployed from a comfortable Chief Security Officer role at a hotel to a busier establishment. At first, I hated the move because the new posting came with less comfort and fewer resting opportunities. My commander explained that security staff are often moved to prevent overfamiliarity with workers at a location. The new hotel, however, brought more daily earning opportunities. Some guests approach me for help contacting adult workers at the hotel, and I receive small commissions when introductions lead to paid meetings. I also get occasional tips from guests and have started washing visitors’ cars for extra income. In less than a month, the side earnings have helped me cover feeding and other expenses. The downside is that I barely sleep, and some of the women complain when I do not refer customers to them. The transfer taught me that a change of environment can create unexpected opportunities, even when it is difficult at first.
