Ndume Urges Stronger Military Equipment After Boko Haram Kills Soldiers and Civilians in Borno
Senator Ali Ndume condemned the killing of six soldiers and several civilians by Boko Haram in Mussa village, Askira Uba LGA of Borno State. He described the midday attack as tragic and called for intensified operations to secure vulnerable communities. Security sources say insurgents tried to infiltrate a military formation around noon and clashed with troops. Several attackers were neutralised, but militants still managed to kill soldiers and harm civilians. Ndume urged the Federal Government to strengthen security forces by providing modern equipment and boosting intelligence gathering. He stressed the urgent need to “Train, Equip, Arm and Motivate” the military with assets such as MRAP vehicles, fighter jets and drones. The senator offered condolences to the families of the victims and praised the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, police, Civilian Joint Task Force and local vigilantes. He warned that sustained support is essential to prevent further loss of life in southern Borno.
