EFCC Arrests Ex-Power Minister Saleh Mamman in Kaduna Hideout
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested former Power Minister Saleh Mamman in Rigasa, Kaduna State, at about 3:30 a.m. He had been on the run after a Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced him in absentia to 75 years for N33.8 billion fraud linked to hydropower projects. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede announced the arrest at a press briefing in Abuja. Two others who were protecting Mamman were also detained. The house where they were found is now under investigation. Officials tracked the former minister’s changing phone numbers and SIM cards to pinpoint his location. Olukoyede warned that the agency will continue to pursue anyone involved in the diversion of public funds, no matter where they hide.
