Bernardo Silva Seals Two-Year Free Transfer to Real Madrid

Bernardo Silva Seals Two-Year Free Transfer to Real Madrid

Real Madrid have confirmed the free signing of Bernardo Silva on a two-year deal, running until June 2028. The 29-year-old midfielder departed Manchester City after a trophy-laden nine-year stint. Silva joins Los Blancos after his contract at City expired, following major successes that included six Premier League titles and a Champions League crown. Despite offers from Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, Silva opted for Real Madrid. He featured in all 38 league games last season for City and captained the side while adding the Carabao Cup and FA Cup to his honours. Silva is expected to join Portugal’s squad for their opening Group K match against DR Congo at the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Real should integrate Silva gradually, pairing him with experienced midfielders to unlock his creativity without disrupting team balance.
