Wike Says Rivers Crisis Ended Fubara’s Second-Term Prospects

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the political crisis in Rivers State prevented Governor Siminalayi Fubara from pursuing a second term. Speaking during his monthly media chat, Wike blamed poor advice from Fubara’s associates and what he called external interests. He said he had repeatedly warned Fubara not to abandon the political structure that helped bring him to office. Wike, a former Rivers governor, also reflected on the political disagreements that ended his alliance with Fubara.
