A serving Mobile Police officer has been arrested over an armed robbery that left a fuel attendant dead in Kontagora, Niger State. On April 15, 2026, two gunmen stormed Garun Mallam Filling Station. One was dressed in a mobile police uniform. They demanded money after buying fuel. When 20-year-old Jibrin Inuwa resisted, he was shot in the chest and later died at the General Hospital, Kontagora. Police teams tracked the suspects to an area behind a vigilante office. In a brief gun duel, one suspect was wounded, disarmed and arrested. He has been identified as Insp. Jido Ahmed of 61 PMF Kontagora. An AK-47 rifle and ammunition were recovered. Investigations continue as officers hunt for the second suspect.
