Edo: Son Murders Father Over Food Dispute, Mob Lynches Him
A 30-year-old man in Ikhehe, Ewato community of Esan Southeast LGA, Edo State, attacked and killed his father after an argument over the lack of food. The farmer father explained he could not harvest cassava because armed men had taken over the nearby forest. In anger, the son picked up a cutlass and inflicted fatal wounds. A neighbour who tried to intervene also suffered serious cuts and is now in intensive care. As the suspect attempted to escape, a mob caught and lynched him. Police say the incident has not yet been formally reported at the station.
