How Faith and Resilience Led a Nigerian Immigrant to Work, Love and Stability in Canada
Cynthia Ima-Osagie arrived in Canada on a study visa in September 2023. She faced an expired passport, lost her student status and endured a lengthy appeal before her permanent residency was approved in December 2024. During months of uncertainty and loneliness, she turned to volunteering and a faith-based dating app. She met a partner who shared her values and married him just one year after arriving in Canada. After graduating from a Health Care Administration program, Cynthia now works as a pharmacy assistant and plans to write her pharmacist exams. She remains committed to giving back through local volunteer organizations. She hopes her journey shows other newcomers that challenges can bring new opportunities and lasting joy.
