NSCDC Busts Illegal Badagry Detention Camp, Rescues 24 and Arrests Four

NSCDC Busts Illegal Badagry Detention Camp, Rescues 24 and Arrests Four

The NSCDC Lagos State Command uncovered an illegal detention camp in Itoga, Badagry. Operatives rescued 24 victims, including a toddler, and arrested four suspects linked to a cross-border criminal syndicate. Commandant Adedotun Keshinro credited intelligence gathering and community engagement for the successful raid. The victims include nationals of Nigeria, Togo and Benin Republic, lured by deceptive inducements into the hideout. Preliminary investigations revealed some had been missing for between three months and three years. Authorities say the suspects forced victims to fake kidnappings and extort ransoms, and even coerced them into fraud and drug trafficking. The rescued individuals are now under protective custody, and the NSCDC is appealing to families searching for missing relatives to come forward for identification. The suspects will be prosecuted after investigations conclude.

It's hard to believe such a camp existed so close to Lagos without any local suspicion or prior reports.
