Has the NDC Sold Peter Obi a Dummy Again? Unpacking the Latest Opposition Plot
I suspect Peter Obi has been sold a dummy by the NDC, just as he was by the Labour Party. His urgency may have been exploited to split the opposition vote. Weeks before Kwankwaso joined the ADC, the president invited him into the APC. That alliance failed over a VP demand. Yet his ally still joined APC without penalty. Soon after, Kwankwaso and Obi defected to the newly registered NDC, weakening a united front against Tinubu. I fear the Kwankwasiya Movement will realign with the APC before or after 2027, positioning Kwankwaso as a future flagbearer. In my view, Obi lacks the strategic clout to hold the opposition together. The split hands another advantage to Tinubu. My only hope is that Tinubu turns his political strategy into real economic and political progress for Nigeria.
