Lagos Sanitation Officer Queried Over N20,000 Bribe Caught on Video

A Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps officer has been issued an official query after a video surfaced showing him accept a N20,000 bribe from civilians inside a patrol van. The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the officer’s identity and described the conduct as unacceptable. He said a Personnel Management Board will be convened to investigate under civil service regulations. The state government reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on corruption. Any public servant found guilty will face strict disciplinary action. Citizens were also reminded that offering a bribe is unlawful. The statement urged everyone to respect the law and support transparent enforcement.
