Border Force Seizes $8.4m Cocaine Hidden in Skims Underwear Shipment
Authorities intercepted a truck carrying 28 pallets of Skims shapewear at the Port of Harwich in Essex last September. X-rays revealed 90 packages of cocaine stashed inside a modified compartment in the tail doors of the vehicle. Driver Jakub Jan Konkel, 40, from northern Poland, first denied any involvement. He later admitted he was paid about €4,500 to smuggle the drugs, which weighed a total of 198 pounds. The street value of the seized cocaine was estimated at roughly $8.4 million. Border Force officials praised the operation for disrupting criminal networks and keeping dangerous substances off the streets.
